Building the financial rails
for the next decade of African commerce.
LUNA TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED is an East Africa-based fintech building a modern payment service provider designed for local rails across Tanzania and Uganda — with global ambition.
Make accepting and sending money across East Africa radically simple.
Merchants shouldn't have to choose between local mobile money and global card acceptance — we deliver both behind one API, one settlement and one compliance posture across Tanzania and Uganda.
Vision
Every Tanzanian and Ugandan business accepting any form of money in seconds.
Mission
The most reliable, transparent and compliant payment rails across East Africa.
Values
Customer obsession, regulatory rigour and engineering excellence.
Why we’re building this across Dar and Kampala.
Tanzania and Uganda host two of the most vibrant mobile money ecosystems on the continent — and two of the fastest-growing card markets in East Africa. Yet ambitious merchants still piece together fragmented integrations, duplicate KYC, and manual reconciliations across borders.
Luna Techwas founded to change that. We’re building a single platform that unifies TZS and UGX mobile money, domestic bank transfers and international card acceptance — wrapped in the anti-fraud, AML/KYC and reporting controls expected of a tier-one payment service provider.
A team built for regulated fintech.
We’re assembling a leadership team with deep experience across payments, banking and engineering. Full bios will be published with our launch announcement.
Pending licensing — Bank of Tanzania & Bank of Uganda.
Regulatory status
LUNA TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED is currently undergoing licensing review by the Bank of Tanzania and the Bank of Uganda. Services will be offered in each market upon authorisation.
We are simultaneously preparing for PCI DSS Level 1 attestation and aligning our operations against the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Act 2022, the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 and applicable AML/CFT obligations in both jurisdictions.
